What Are Snap-In Dentures?
Snap-In Dentures combine the stability of dental implants with the convenience of removable dentures. Dental implants support these dentures but can be easily removed for daily cleaning and maintenance, offering a practical solution if you have missing teeth.
Snap-In Dentures use special attachments to connect securely to the implants. This provides far superior stability and prevents the slipping and movement that is common with traditional dentures.
Snap-In Dentures offer a middle ground between traditional dentures, which relies on suction to the tissue, and the permanent All-on-X procedure (web developer add link here so they can go view the all on x webpage) . The benefit of this middle ground treatment is vastly improved function, chewing, and confidence over the traditional dentures, without the higher expense of the All-on-X procedure.
Say goodbye to bulky, ill-fitting dentures. Upgrade to snap-in dentures for a natural-looking smile and the ability to speak and eat without worry.
Our Process
Diagnostic Testing
If you are suitable for Snap-In Denture treatment, comprehensive diagnostic tests, including a 3D CBCT image and a digital scan of your teeth and gums, are conducted. This crucial step in treatment planning ensures that your jawbone is strong and has adequate volume to support dental implants.
Placement of Dental Implants
Everything we do at Klooster Family Dentistry is technology and digitally driven. Since we obtained the 3D CBCT and the digital scan of your existing teeth and gums, we are now able to digitally plan your case. We have an exact replication of your bone and soft tissue so we can virtually place all of the implants and plan their placement for the highest level of success.
Once we have virtually planned where the implants are going to go, we 3D print surgical guides that we use during the placement of the implants. Dr Klooster likes to call this “placing implants with training wheels” 🙂 because it takes all the guesswork out of where the implants are going. We simply place the guides, and pop the implants into where they need to go. It drastically cuts down on complications during surgery and significantly reduces the amount of time needed for the appointment. After the placement of the implants, we let them integrate with the bone for 3-6 months.
During this healing phase, temporary dentures are provided immediately, so you won’t go without teeth.
Placement of Snap-In Dentures
Once the healing period is complete, a customized set of dentures is fabricated to match the color and shape of natural teeth. These dentures are then securely attached to the locator devices, providing a stable, non-slip fit and a natural-looking smile.
Snap-In Dentures empower you to take control of your oral health and reclaim the joy of a worry-free smile. Schedule a consultation with us today and explore how this innovative solution can transform your life.
Attachment of Locator Devices
After the healing phase of 3-6 months and fabrication of your permanent dentures, we then attach the permanent dentures to the locators. The locators are like buttons on a jacket, you align the part inside the denture to the part on top of the implant and you “snap” it in place!

How do I care for Snap-In Dentures after they are placed?
Snap-In Dentures can be cleaned with a toothbrush and non-gritty toothpaste. They can also be cleaned with soap and water. You will want to brush the locators in the mouth to keep plaque and gum inflammation from occurring. Routine dental check-ups and professional cleanings are also essential to maintaining oral health and check on the condition of the snap-in dentures.
Can removable implant dentures improve my ability to chew and speak?
Yes, these implants can significantly improve your ability to chew and speak by providing stability and support, similar to your natural teeth.
What is the lifespan of implant-retained overdentures?
These dentures can easily last 15-20 years, depending on factors such as oral hygiene, bone health, and regular dental care. With proper maintenance, you can enhance their lifespan to maintain a beautiful smile. The nylon housings in the dentures need to be replaced around every 18 months to ensure a snug fit, and the metal locators on top of the implants need to be replaced every 5-7 years since these parts wear out over time from placing and removing the snap in dentures each day.
What materials are used to make snap-in dentures?
These dentures are made of an acrylic resin material that is lightweight, strong, and has high aesthetics. The materials are safe, BPA free, and FDA-approved.
Can I still get Snap-In Dentures with remaining teeth?
Yes, snap-in dentures can utilize both implants and remaining healthy teeth for support. Even if you have two or a few missing teeth, you can opt for removable implant dentures.
